Bowl Description: This bowl series comes from the Red oak trees (Quercus rubra) that stand in Old Harvard Yard. As part of the on-going campus renewal and preservation, trimmings occur in the winter to to beautify the campus come spring. Old Harvard Yard is also home to Massachusetts Hall, which was built in 1720 and thought to be one of the oldest academic buildings in the United States. The University President's offices are located in the first floors of Massachusetts Hall. Across the Yard, stands the John Harvard Statue or "The Statue of Three Lies."
Pre-Order Notes: Bowls typically take around 6 months to 1 year to dry following their removal from the grounds. As these bowls are made available they will be placed on the website. For those interested in pre-orders they will be shipped out usually 1 week after the order is processed. Dimensions will only vary slightly from the estimates below.
