Bowl Description: This bowl comes from an Ash tree that stood on the north part of Harvard on Kirkland Street. This tree was estimated to be close to 90 years old before it died and needed to be removed. Old Harvard Yard is also home to Massachusetts Hall, which was built in 1720 and thought to be one of the oldest academic buildings in the United States. The University President's offices are located in the first floors of Massachusetts Hall. Across the Yard, stands the John Harvard Statue or "The Statue of Three Lies."
