History: This pen was handcrafted from a Honey Locust tree (Gleditsia triacanthos) that grew in front of the Baker Library on the riverfront lawn where graduation takes places. The Baker Library was dedicated in 1927 and is currently the largest business library in the world. The library contains over 600,000 volumes from the last 7 centuries. After showing initial signs of dying, the tree was removed and replaced in March of 2014.
